Sonia as 1st Runner Up at Miss World 1999

Sonia as part of the ten semifinalist at Miss Universe 1999. She made it to the Top 5, however, on that year the finalist was just trimmed down to just three. She and Miss Venezuela will then be assigned the "hypothetical" 4th runner up since it is really unknown whether one of the will be a 3rd runner up. In today's standard of five finalist, both South Africa and Venezuela would have a place.
