Battle of October Beauties

Jennifer Hammond along with Maxine Medina is the only two girls who got the right beauty title at the right training camp.

Jennifer will set the mood and or trend for this year's Philippine performance on international beauty pageant the way Anne Colis did last year. The Miss Intercontinental beauty pageant will be held on 15th of October in Sri Lanka.

The Miss Intercontinental crown is the only crown left unconquered for the Philippines among the Tier 2 beauty titles. Besides, Philippine performance at Miss Intercontinental is on upward trend. Koreen Medina was 3rd Runner up in 2013, Kris Tiffany Janson was 2nd Runner Up in 2014 and Christi Lynn McGarry was 1st Runner Up in 2015. Sustaining that momentum is difficult leaving Jennifer no choice but to finally take home the crown. Added to that pressure would be the "politics" behind in achieving that title!

Kris Tiffany and Christi Lynn is both protégé of Aces & Queen and so as Jennifer Hammond. This means to say that the training accorded by the camp is proven effective given the performance of previous representatives.

Second in line is Nicole Cordoves who will be representing the Philippines at Miss Grand International 2016 in United States on October 25.

Nicole is also a protégé of Aces & Queen training camp. Previous representatives of the Philippines at Miss Grand International are from other training camp. Ali Forbes who placed 3rd runner up in 2013 was from John dela Vega's training camp while Parul Shah who placed 3rd Runner Up in 2015 was from Kagandahang Flores. This means to say that Aces & Queen would be dipping its toes on warm water whether the training they extended to Nicole would be effective.

Nevertheless, considering the format of Miss Grand International as a replica of Miss Universe and considering Aces & Queen straight victory at Miss Universe, the recipe should be effective as well.

Kylie Verzosa is third in line but the first among the Big Four to compete internationally on October 27. Kylie is also under Aces & Queen. Aces & Queen experienced its biggest slap in 2014 when Bianca Guidotti failed to make it at the Top 10 at Miss International. Some attribute the failure to the awful gown she wore. Others say that it was because of rowdy crowd present in the hall.

However, Aces & Queen continuous search for perfection out of its previous mistakes from previous performances, there is a possibility that they would be able to rebound from Kylie's performance. Kylie also has a strong personality and determination to win. She just needs to consolidate that personality to connect with the Japanese the way Bea Rose did in 2013.

Just when I thought that the "domino effect" of 2013 is over, then comes Imelda Schweighart!

Imelda was also a part of Binibining Pilipinas 2013 side by side with Pia Wurtzbach. The illusion of a "three-peat" is a bit vague for Philippines at Miss Earth. Imelda is smart and witty but Brazil and Venezuela are sending strong contenders this year as well. Nevertheless, she might be able to secure a spot at the Top 4.

Imelda is under Kagandahang Flores who trained Jamie and Angelia as well. Miss Earth website states that it will be held on October though no final date was set yet.
