SMA's predilection for "ready made" items

Stella Marquez de Araneta (SMA), the National Director of Binibining Pilipinas has the predilection to mostly "ready made" be it a crown or an evening gown. Below are some of the examples.

Unfortunately for Maricar Balagtas, the crown for her International title was also purchased from the same manufacturer

With all due respect but a "Mitre" should only be exclusive to a Pope

Everybody thought that the Evening Gown worn by Bea Rose Santiago at Miss International 2013 was a Halston gown because of its striking similarity with Miriam Quiambao's 1999 Miss Universe gown. After intense digging, it was actually from LaFemme Fashion (Style # 17797) from its 2013 Prom Dress Collection. It was already discontinued by LaFemme, however, a Hong-Kong based (ikmdresses) manufacturer is still producing the gown in different colors. It is unknown whether this Hong-Kong based manufacturer is the original producer and supply it to LaFemme and LaFemme is retailing it at an inflated price. The price difference in the price is on the screenshot.

One might argue that LaFemme might have just copied that gown after seeing it from Bea but LaFemme's dress collection is assigned with "Style #" and the higher the "Style #" the newer the style.

Also the video below was published on 14 March 2013 while the Miss International was held on 17 December 2013.

March 2013 exchange rate is 40.75 = 1$ (498 USD x 40.75 Php = 20,293.25). Not bad for a Miss International crown in return.
