Team Venezuela is all set.
All the girls are crowned on the
same pageant on the same year.
Gessica Fiume who was first
runner up at Miss Venezuela 2015 will be the country's representative at Miss
World. With Gessica being handpicked for Miss World, will she be able to break
Venezuela's 4-year drought at Miss World? It is surprising though that no
separate pageant will be held to crown Miss World Venezuela this year. Is it
because of the 4-year non-placement of Venezuela at Miss World that pushed
Osmel Souza to once again pick its representative at Miss World from Miss
Venezuela?
Jessica Duarte has bigger shoes
to fill in this year. After Edymar's victory at Miss International 2015,
Jessica has to push extra harder for a back to back title. Miss International
is the only pageant left among the Big 4 which doesn't have a back to back
placement. Venezuela succeeded for a back to back victory at Miss Universe
(2008 & 2009) while India succeeded for a back to back title at Miss World
(1999 & 2000) and Philippines at Miss Earth (2014 & 2015).
Mariam Habach may be the least
pressured among the girls. With seven Miss Universe title for Venezuela, she
just need to enjoy herself at Miss Universe 2016. Who knows? That by competing
in a more relax mode might be the key for the eight Miss Universe crown for
Venezuela. She is a front runner but there are other girls from Latin America
who are really fierce, one of them is Miss Peru.
Maydeliana Diaz is the most
promising among the three. I can smell an "effortless preparedness"
from this girl. Osmel is picking on Miss Earth.
At the 2015 Miss Venezuela, it is obvious that Andrea Rosales was the
"Miss Universe" material. She is tall; poise and elegant but Osmel
didn't gave her the Miss Universe crown. My theory is that he wants a girl who
is already "prepared" for a sendoff. Miss Venezuela 2015 was held on 8th
October and Miss Earth was due on 05th December. Maydeliana already won the
International Coffee Queen 2016 which gave her pageant experience. The only
dilemma she would be facing would be her contractual obligations although it is
due to expire by January 2017.
